Cameroon and Australia played out a disappointing 1-1 draw, after Mark Milligan’s second half leveler left both sides on the brink.

In a rather laborious first half, it was the African Champions who found the breakthrough deep into stoppage time, through Andre-Frank Zambo Auguissa, who lofted the ball over Ryan Maty in goal for the Socceroos.

The Indomitable Lions nearly doubled their lead, after the break, but striker, Vincent Aboubakar missed a golden opportunity, with the net at his mercy.

A minute later, the Cameroonians were made to regret that miss. Alex Gersbach broke from the left, only to be fouled by Ernest Mabouka in the box, with Mark Milligan stepping forward to slot home the resultant penalty for the equalizer.

It was a result that did both sides no favours, having lost their respective openers, as both sides face early elimination from the 2017 FIFA Confederations Cup.
