A house help has been arraigned by the Nigerian Police Force before an Ebute Meta Magistrate’s court in Lagos for allegedly killing a 5-year-old son of her guardian.The 11-year-old house help was accused of stabbing and strangling the 5-year-old to death.
The accused was arraigned for a one count charge of murder.
The offences contravened Section 223 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.
The Prosecutor, Insp. Chinalu Uwadione told the court that the accused had committed the offence on the 10th of March 2018 at about 6.30pm, at Plot 702, Road 255, AbuleAdo, Festac, Lagos State.
He narrated that the accused had strangled the five-year-old Chikaso Amazu left under her care with a leather belt before stabbing him with a curtain rod on his private part which resulted to his death.
The accused pleaded that the Court tamper justice with Mercy.
The Chief Magistrate, Mrs Ipaye-Nwachukwu ordered that the accused be taken to Girl’s Correctional Home in Idi Araba.
The case has been adjourned until April 18 pending legal advice from the State Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP’s).
