Monaco Star, Thomas Lemar has been the target of the English Clubs and giants Arsenal, Liverpool and Atletico Madrid but Atletico Madrid has taken the lead in a €60m bid for the 22-year-old to move over to their side during the summer transfer window.
The €60m (£53m) Atletico Madrid offer was turned down by the French Giants with claims that their opening offer is not substantial enough to get the desired player who is highly skilled. This was revealed by Gianluca Di Marzio.
Liverpool however, have been greatly connected with the interest and move for Lemar over the last 12 months. The French international and Monaco ace reportedly rejected the move from Arsenal last summer.
The quest for Lemar from the two English Clubs went lowkey and somewhat discreet in their move for the 22-year-old, following his despondent season for Monaco this year.
The 22-year-old is still expected to leave the Club this year but the Club is requesting for an €80m bid for him before initializing a transfer to any club.
In all these, Lemar has recorded the highest assist for Monaco in the last season’s Ligue 1 with a record of 64 Apps, 18 assists and a 7.30 rating. He is the second highest assist giver, directly trailing Thomas Mangani who has given a total of 70 assists as opposed Lemar’s 59 assists in Ligue 1 since August 2016.
