CORRUPTION: Tanzanian President fires two Municipal Directors

The Tanzanian President Magufuli, (aka “the Bulldozer”) was elected in 2015, and has sacked many Civil Servants for inefficiency and corruption for the past two years.

Tanzanian President John Magufuli has dismissed the Director of Bukoba Municipal Council, Erasto Mfugale and the Director of Bukoba Rural Municipal Council, Mwantum Dau from their respective offices.

Report has it that the duos were fired few hours from when the President called for a meeting with them, asking that they should give account of the allocation released by the Government for construction of roads in their localities.

It was also gathered that the President has fished out over 20,000 “ghost workers” from the Public Service Payroll and had sacked 12,000 Government employees who have fake academic records.

President Magufuli had promised to flush out bad people from his Government.

He said: “I will continue to straighten out those few people who have been looting this country in order to ensure that the majority of the population can reap the benefits.”

The Two Municipal Directors could not state immediately in figure, how much they spent on the Project assigned to them, when the President asked.

Though, the sacked Directors have been assigned to other duties, according to the statement released from the office of the President.

Mr. Magufuli, (aka “the Bulldozer”) was elected in 2015, and has sacked many Civil Servants for inefficiency and corruption for the past two years, sequel to his promises to fight corruption and carry out major construction projects in the country.
