Chelsea have sent yet another player out on loan, after Matt Miazga rejoined Vitesse Arnhem, the Blues’ partner club.
Miazga spent last season on loan at the Dutch side, making a total of 23 appearances, as he helped them to their first major trophy, after lifting the KNVB cup.
“I’m looking forward to my first year at Vitesse,” said the 22-year-old. “I felt very welcome and we have all made historic success.
“That success will be expanded this coming season and I will continue to develop myself. That’s why I returned as soon as possible after winning the Gold Cup. We are going to compete for the second prize in the club’s history,” he added.
The American joined the Premier League champions last year from Major League Soccer side, New York Red Bulls, and becomes the latest academy to be sent out on loan by the champions.
The Blues have already sent out defenders, Ola Aina, Michael Hector, who both joined championship side, Hull City, while Kurt Zouma was sent to PL side, Stoke City. Tomas Kalas is also out on loan, as is Andreas Christensen.
Miazga isn’t the only Chelsea academy player at Vitesse, as Fankaty Dabo, Charlie Colkett and Mason Mount will also spend the coming campaign at Vitesse.
