The way Nigeria is going today, the APC-led Federal Government is only prepared to write results. But this time, the results will write them.
Governor of Rivers State Barr Nyesom Wike has firmly accepted the call by different groups, ethnic nationalities and professional bodies in the state to run for second tenure. The Governor said this yesterday in Port Harcourt, during a reception that was organized by the Apara Kingdom to honor him for the numerous good works he has been doing in the state.
Eze Oha Apara, Eze C. A. Worlu-Wodo told Nyesom Wike that the people of Apara Kingdom have endorsed him for a second term. He advised him to present himself for a second term that the people will make sure he wins to enable him continue the good work that he is doing in Rivers State.
Barr Nyesom Wike assured the people of Apara Kingdom and everyone present that he will declare for a rerun when there is a firm assurance by the people to protect their vote come 2019 election. The Governor declares that following the present activities of the central ruling party, APC, in 2019 election results will be hand written, but with God the result will write them.
Governor Wike said, “I will declare when you assure me you are ready to protect our votes.”
“The way Nigeria is going today, the APC-led Federal Government is only prepared to write results. But this time, the results will write them”
The Governor said that the All Progressive Congress APC has failed Nigerians. He used the current fuel scarcity that is tormenting Nigerians across the country as a confirmation that Nigerians are going through hell under the APC administration.
Wike said, “Even if there is fuel, there is no money to buy fuel. Today, the exchange rate of the dollar to naira has degenerated and prices of foodstuffs have gone beyond the reach of Nigerians. They deceived Nigerians with all kinds of lies, but today they are compounding the problems of the people.”
The governor in his remark assured the people of Apara Kingdom that he will not disappoint their expectation, saying that more developmental projects are on the way, all to make Rivers State and her citizens better.
He said, “I will continue to remain focused. Some people did not expect us to perform very excellently, but we have been able to put them to shame.”
He stated that he is developing Rivers State because he wants to walk the streets after leaving office without being guarded by soldiers like those who failed the people.
Governor Wike said the reason he is developing Rivers State in an exceptional way is that after his stay in office, he will like to walk round the street of Rivers State freely without soldiers guarding him, which will not be possible if he fails the people like some past leaders.
