Merseysiders, Everton, are set to continue their incredible summer spending spree with a move for Crystal Palace striker, Christian Benteke.
The Toffees have signed forwards, Sandro Ramirez, Wayne Rooney, and Henry Onyekuru, who’s been sent out on loan, but have now turned their searchlight on Benteke, according to reports.
This comes as a result of manager, Ronald Koeman’s quest for a like for like replacement for former star striker, Romelu Lukaku, who sealed a £75m move to Manchester United and sees his compatriot, Benteke, as a perfect choice.
Benteke, a £27m signing from Liverpool, has been considering his future at Selhurst Park and could be tempted with a move away from the club.
The Belgian is seen as an alternative to another player linked with a move to Goodison Park, Olivier Giroud, whose future at the Emirates is in doubt following the £53m record signing of Alexandre Lacazette from French side, Lyon.
Benteke, who scored 17 goals last season for the Eagles, was signed by former manager, Sam Allardyce, and is reportedly also tracked by PL champions, Chelsea, whose main summer target, Lukaku, was swooped by rivals United, despite the Blues matching the Red Devils’ bid late on.
