Some of the people believe that media that reported peaceful and impressive election turnout in Akwa-ibom state were influenced by the Nigerian government.

Facebook community users have faulted the report by Nigerian media over the 31 local government area elections as conduction by the Independent National Electoral Commission INEC. The media reported peaceful and credible electoral process at the poll, while most facebook users have faulted the report on the bases that there were little or no voters at most of the pulling units.

A facebook user Geraldine James says, ‘’Channels is a lie for once stand your ground and speaks the truth…Be a voice to the truth.. Am so disappointed this is coming from you people’’

Another user by name Nwota Ani says, ‘’When will you unless channels be telling people the truth? No election so where did you people get d voters?’’

It was also noted that some national papers reported a low turnout of voters while some other seems to be more interested in making up result of the election to paint a good image before the international communities.

George Amaowo another facebook user said, ‘Yes peacefull due to low or no turnout of voters. No Elections in BIAFRA land get ur fact straight’’

It was widely believed that the Saturday local government election in Akwa-ibom state was boycotted on IPOB’s command to members.

While some national media reported that absence of electoral material stalled the entire process.
