FUT student arrested

Two students of the FUT University of Technology, Minna, identified as Ologa Samuel and Salim Balarabe, were reportedly arrested by the Niger State Police Command for alleged robbery.

The Police Public Relations Officer, Bala Elkana, said the suspects, was apprehended by the Special Anti-Robbery Squad during a joint operation with the security operatives of the university, but did not disclose the department of the suspects.
According to Elkana, they robbed one Nwosu Stephen and snatched a laptop valued at N130,000 and two handsets.

Elkana urged parents to advise their children to steer clear of trouble and face their studies.
“The police will not tolerate this ugly behaviour from students. It is either they face their studies squarely or leave the state. We will put a stop to students’ gangsterism in this state,” he said.

He also added that the command had commenced investigations into the case.
