James Kivisto, an American gymnastic center (Wind Lake) owner at Racine and a coach was arrested on Tuesday for secretly recording children who were changing in the center’s changing room/bathroom.
The suspected case was reported to the police by a parent of one of the wards who made it open that a hidden camera was planted in the bathroom. This made for a thorough search by the detectives through the club in Racine County, Wisconsin.
Report has it that the 49-year-old has run Wind Lake Gymnastic Center for over 11 years and has been applauded for seemingly training young gymnasts since 1987 within and outside Racine.
Sexual abuse of Minors has been a major pressing issue in gymnastics in the United States and is still trying to recuperate from the gigantic scandal associated with Larry Nassar, the former USA gymnastics doctor.
Dr. Larry was associated with several sexual abuse cases of both women and girls including Simone Biles, Aly Raisman and McKayla Maroney the Olympic champions. They all attested to being sexually abused by this Paedophile doctor during their time on the US national team.
He pleaded guilty to molestation of young gymnasts with claims of treating them medically or administering a particular kind of medical treatment. He was further disgraced and sentenced to about a hundred and seventy five (175) years in prison.
Like the others apprehended before him, James Kivisto has also been apprehended and is currently in custody at Racine County Jail where he is being held for having in his possession child pornography and has admittedly been recording kids changing on several occasions.
