Former head coach Rick Stone has officially left Huddersfield giants and has been replaced with his assistant Chris Thorman.
The giants announced the departure of their former head coach on Tuesday morning.
The managing director of the club Richard Thewlis in a statement said: “it is very difficult call for any club to make in respect of the head coach but the board felt that a change was needed and that the change should be made sooner rather than later with much of the season still to run.”
The 51-year-old’s contract was to elapse at the end of the season but due to his inability to deliver as much as expected, has left the club. He was able to lead the team to just two wins out of seven matches played in the Super League Season.
Currently, the giants who finished inside the top eight in the last season are now second from the bottom in the League table.
Richard Thewlis further said in his statement that “Rick Stone is an outstanding man, character and coach but the results for us simply haven’t worked out as anyone would have wished for.”
