The Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB) said it has released results of candidates who sat for the Unified Tertiary Matriculation examination so far.
The examination which started on May 13, will end on May 20, and so far, only the results of 1,048,911 candidates from the 1,648,429, has been released.
While speaking to newsmen in Lagos at JKK CBT Centre Ilupeju, JAMB Registrar Prof. Is-haq Oloyede, described most of the Computer Based Test Centres (CBT) as ‘mushroom’ centres with no capacity to conduct the examinations, after an assessment of centres where the examinations were held in the state.
He noted that the examinations held so far were standard. Oloyede said, though the board considered reducing the N5,500 registration package, it, however, rescinded the decision when it discovered that candidates were paying over N18,000 and more to fraudsters to circumvent standard.
Oloyede promised that most of the private CBT centres will not be allowed from next year to conduct the examination. About 1.7 million candidates reportedly registered for the 2017 UTME; more than 1.2 million registered in 2016. Candidates are advised to check their e-mail addresses or visit the board’s website for their results.
