Professor Halimatu Idris, who is the Katsina State Commissioner of Education, has been sacked by Governor Aminu Masari. Professor Halimatu’s disengagement of service was revealed in a statement issued and signed on Thursday by the Senior Special Assistant to the governor on media, Abdu Labaran Malumfashi.,
According to the statement, Governor Aminu Masari thanked Professor Halimatu for the services she rendered as a commissioner in the state. This is as written in a Letter of Appreciation and Disengagement personally signed by the Governor on December 21, 2017.
Governor Aminu said the commissioner’s contributions to the development of the education sector in the state and her contribution to the government in general cannot be neglected.
Governor Aminu pointed out in his letter that teachers were trained and equipped with better skills and the atmosphere was made more conducive for learning and teaching in the state.
The governor also recognized that during Halimatu’s term as commissioner, schools were rehabilitated and some others were upgraded while new ones were built at strategic locations.
The governor however gave reason for Halimatu’s disengagement as a result of considering that political activities leading to elections would commence very early in 2018.
The governor therefore said: “it has become necessary for the government to bring more active politicians on board so as to fasten activities of governance.”
In his farewell message, the governor wish Professor Halimatu God’s guidance in her future endeavors.
