Mohamed Salah has fired a dig at Manchester United following their surprise Champions League exit at the hands of Sevilla on Tuesday evening. “United were lethargic in the first half and were punished after the break following a quick-fire double from Wissam Ben Yedder.”
Romelu Lukaku struck with six minutes remaining to provide a glimmer of hope for United, but Jose Mourinho’s side were dumped out of Europe as Sevilla held on to their 2-1 win.
Liverpool, meanwhile, are safely through tot he quarter-finals after sealing their 5-0 aggregate victory over Porto at Anfield last week.
And Salah has sent a timely reminder of that fact on Instagram with a post of the Champions League trophy almost immediately after the full-time whistle of United’s defeat at Old Trafford.
Salah then followed that up with another post on Twitter saying: ‘The UCL draw can’t come soon enough.’
Salah struggled to shine in Liverpool’s 2-1 defeat to United on Saturday as the forward had difficulty in getting the better of Ashley Young during the match at Old Trafford.
On Monday, Young directed a dig at Salah via Instagram after fans joked that the Egyptian spent the entire game in the United left-back’s pocket.
