Manchester United have agreed a fee in the region of £75m for Everton striker, Romelu Lukaku, according to a report by the BBC.
Lukaku, who scored 25 goals in the Premier League for the Toffees last season, has been linked severally with a move away from Goodison Park.
United have been linked all summer with Real Madrid striker, Alvaro Morata, but will now drop their interest in the Spanish International.
The Red Devils are hopeful of completing the deal for the Belgian international, just in time before departing for pre-season tour in the United States on Sunday.
The striker was on a list of forward options Mourinho gave to executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward before the end of last season.
It had been thought Lukaku would return to his former club Chelsea, who he joined from Anderlecht in 2011, before he was sold to Everton for 28m by Mourinho, who was then in his second spell as Chelsea manager, in 2014.
The Belgian is a client of agent Mino Raiola, who also manages Paul Pogba, Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Henrikh Mkhitaryan, three players were all signed by United last summer.
