Maria Sharapova reacts to French Open snub

Russian tennis star, Maria Sharapova has released a statement through her official twitter account after the announcement yesterday from the FFT, Federation Francaise de Tennis, that she won’t be receiving a wildcard for the French Open.

The two-time Roland Garros winner, who was banned for 15months after testing positive for a banned substance was hoping to receive a wildcard for the tournament after she was given same for tournaments in Stuttgart, Rome and Madrid.

However, the hope was dashed when the FFT released a statement to announce that the five time grand slam winner won’t be receiving any special considerations to participate in this year’s Roland Garros.
