Barcelona’s new manager, Ernesto Valverde, excited and privileged to be back at the club after arriving at Camp Nou ahead of his contract signing and unveiling ceremony on Thursday,
Valverde, who flew to Barcelona a day early to visit the Club’s facilities and take part in a photo session at Camp Nou, was previously Athletic Club Bilbao manager, and is expected to sign a two year deal with the Catalan giants, starting from the 2017/18 season with the option of a third.
The 53-year-old will now have to take charge of a dressing room with some of the best players in the world but during his photo shoot, appeared very relaxed and thereafter, said managing his former club was a ‘privilege.’
“It’s a privilege to come here,” he told Barca TV.
“I feel very lucky that the Club had me in mind and offered me the job.
“I am very excited about heading into this new stage of my career. It’s an enormous challenge and I have the intention of making FC Barcelona even greater than it already is,” he added.
