Newcastle Rejects Second Bid For Garry Rodrigues.


Turkish Football claim that Galatasaray rejected a £6 million bid from the Tyneside giants in August. And Gunes has now stated that Newcastle saw a second offer for Rodrigues turned down once again in January.

It is understood that the Magpies offered £7 million this time for the 27-year-old winger, who has been in fine form for the Istanbul side this season. Rodrigues, who can play on either flank, has set up six goals in 16 league starts.

And with Galatasaray fighting for the title, sitting a point clear of Istanbul BB at the top of the table, experienced manager Fatih Terim understandably did not want to lose another key player after seeing midfielder Bodou Ndiaye leave for Stoke City for £14 million last month.

So Newcastle have the Potters to blame somewhat then for missing out on Rodrigues for the second successive transfer window.
