Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) sets to resume Oil exploration in Nasarawa State.

Mr Maikantu Baru, Group Managing Director of the Corporation disclosed this on Monday during a courtesy visit to the Deputy Governor of Nasarawa State, Mr. Umar Tanko Al-makura in Lafia the state capital.

Recall that, NNPC had embarked on the oil exploration activities in Keana Local Government Area and other parts of the Benue Inland Basin since 2017 but had to stop due to insecurity of the lives of the NNPC staffs.

Bako said that adequate security arrangements had been made to protect the lives of the workers.

He mentioned that the visit was in fulfilment of the presidential mandate which directed NNPC to resume oil exploration activities in some of the nation’s inland basins which include the Chad Basin and the Benue Trough.

The deputy governor, Silas  Ali Agara, who received the team on behalf of the State Governor expressed concerns over the unfortunate killing of the NNPC staff.

He pledged the support of the state government to enable the corporation to succeed on their assignment.
