During a thanksgiving and grand reception held at Ibru Unity Square in Ovwor-Olomu, Delta state, in honour of the former Governor of the mentioned state, Chief James Ibori, the National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Prince Uche Secondus, elucidated on the statement recently made by the Senator representing Kogi West, Senator Dino Melaye, concerning the rate at which Nigerian Government borrows money.
In the event organised by a PDP Chieftain, Olorogun John Oguma during the weekend, Mr Secondus, recalled (while calling on Nigerians to vote for PDP, come 2019 general elections) that Senator Melaye had acknowledged that the previous Federal Government led by PDP, borrowed only N6 trillion for 16 years in office, while the incumbent APC-led Government has borrowed N11 trillion within 3 years in office.
The PDP National Chairman said: “An APC senator, Dino Melaye, said that in three years, APC borrowed N11 trillion. PDP ruled for 16 years but only N6 trillion was borrowed. Who is more corrupt? Where is power?’’ He asked.
Secondus reportedly said that the country is presently experiencing ‘looming total collapse’ under the administration of President Muhammadu Buhari.
The PDP national leader with the state Governor Ifeanyi Okowa, described the celebrant as a unifying factor of development in Niger Delta and Delta state especially.
