Aubameyang was joined at Arsenal by former Dortmund team-mate Henrikh Mkhitaryan, who arrived in a swap deal that saw Alexis Sanchez move to Manchester United.

He further added: “We haven’t seen anything from Mkhitaryan in an Arsenal shirt yet and this is when you need your big players, in an attacking sense, to get you back into a game.”

The defeat of yesterday’s match against Brighton placed Arsenal in the sixth position in the Premier League, equivalently 13 points behind fierce rivals Tottenham Hotspur who are in the fourth position.
