Surge Zirc Art Competition is a project that has been designed to fish out talents from wherever they are hiding.
We’ve raw and great talents littered all-over the place, most famous Nigerian musicians were at some point raw talents on the street. Actors, footballers were like that, without focus, hope and a head-way, until posterity found them, through somebody or a programme, and then providence followed.
For instance, Chidinma Ekile was a product of project fame, Iyanya was a product of project fame, Pope Jnr, the actor is a product of Maltina Ultimate Search, Ceec, Alex, Miracle, Tobi, Teddy A, Efe, Bisola were all products of Big Brother Naija.
But we do not have yet any programme that can release a string to artistes in the well for them to hold so we will pull them out to see the light. Yet some of us have the platform.
The government would do their best but can not do everything for her citizens. China’s economy did not grow as large as it is with 100 percent effort from their government; the private sector played a major role. Who’s the private sector? You and I.
Something actually motivated this project.
We at Surge Zirc have noticed several occasions when the likes of Don Jazzy, 2Baba, Tekno, Teddy A and lots more celebrities were sketched by some unknown artists, who managed to beg their way to the celebrities just to get attention and then submit the portrait to them at any cost.
Meanwhile, if a person contracts an artiste to make portraits, the price will not in anyway be next to what they give to them, just because they were not contracted.
Lastly, we witnessed the case of the young man who sketched the president of France, Emmanuel Macron, just in two hours a portrait of Macron was ready. That’s a rare talent!
So Surge Zirc decided to give them a platform to stand on and show what they can do to the world.
Surge Zirc can be accessed from anywhere in the world. So the opportunity to grow from the project is not limited, rather, it’s open and wide for those who will be participating.
Participating artiste would be required at stage 1 to pick any celebrity of their choice and sketch. Time allowed 24 hours.
All sketched works shall be sent to Surge zirc via mail.
So shall different tasks come up at three other stages, to make up the four stages as scheduled.
After submitting the entries, Surge Zirc shall publish all works with the artist’s reference numbers the following day.
Next, the artists are required to mobilize a crowd of friends and followers that will vote for them (The voting last for 48 hours).
The total number of votes for stage 1, shall be computed and announced at the end of 48 hours, before the task for stage two will be announced.
Announcing results at different stages is to encourage transparency and then motivate the ones with low votes to seat up.
The voting does not require spending a dime. All voting are to be done on Surge Zirc media platform; under the ‘Art Work’ as will be submitted by the participating artist and published by Surge Zirc.
Aim and Objectives
This project is aimed at scouting for young men and women with sketching talents, whether in rural areas or cities in Nigeria, schooled or not, regardless of the state and given the privilege of relating with the public. We are sure lives would change, idleness will be replaced with positive busy schedule, and negative thoughts and lamentations against the Nigerian economy will reduce.
To achieve a more greater result, Surge Zirc calls on private business owners and government parastatals to partner with her in executing this project.
Partners will have a lot of benefits when partnership agreement is reached.
The project is scheduled to start on the 18th of August 2018 through the first week of September.
This project is proudly powered by: Surge Zirc Media, Rivers State Television Authority (RSTV), Surjik Films Production and Pitchfork Express.
