The Nigeria Table Tennis Federation, NTTF, has invited international Umpires to officiate at the forthcoming 2017 ITTF challenge, tagged Nigeria Open, in Lagos.
The event, which will be staged at the Teslim Balogun stadium in Lagos, commences on Wednesday 9th August and concludes on 13th August, according to a report on the official website of the ITTF.
Revealing further about the event, the statement by the ITTF says while the invitation is an open one, that not all nominations will be accepted, with only those from bonafide national associations will be considered.
“Full hospitality will be provided in a twin room from dinner on Tuesday 8th August to breakfast on Monday 14th August,” the ITTF statement said.
“Each umpire will receive a daily allowance according to ITTF regulations. All invited umpires must organize their own transport to the region as well as travel and medical insurance.
“Local transport will be provided from and to Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Lagos (IATA Code: LOS). In addition, all invited umpires are responsible for early arrival and late departure.
“Should a nominated umpire require a visa, kindly send relevant details when submitting the nomination (full name as in passport, date of birth, place of birth, passport number, expiry date of passport). A visa will be provided.
“Umpires must wear the International umpiring uniforms as described in the Handbook for Match Officials. Umpire evaluations will not be conducted,” it concluded.
The Nigeria Open is worth $46000 in prize money, the highest in the list of ITTF challenge series. The closing date for official nominations is July 5th.
Meanwhile, in a related development, the tournament will be preceded by the qualification events commencing on Wednesday 9th August and concluding on Thursday 10th August, the ITTF says.
