Alexis Sanchez’ signing was one of the best decisions Mourinho has made in Manchester United as the 29-year-old Chilean has proved himself worthy of the millions spent on him. He indeed can be called a “proper Manchester United player” as insinuated by Michael Carrick.
“He is not bad, is he? Not bad for a little man,” he said. “He is going to be a terrific player. He is a proper Manchester United player and it’s great to have him here. He is so exciting and so dynamic.
“He’s always looking to create opportunities, to play forward, and the fans are going to enjoy watching him. Hopefully, we will enjoy playing with him.” Said Carrick.
Carrick was greatly convinced that the Red Devils really hit on the Jackpot this time with the signing of Sanchez within the first 72 minutes of the Chilean playing in the famous Number 7 red shirt.
The Chilean January signing made a man of the match contribution with two assists on debut in the 4-0 FA Cup fourth round win over Yeovil on Friday.
Ander Herrera co-player and teammate was happy with the 29-year-old’s defence tactics as well as his attacking prowess and skills as displayed in his first match against Yeovil.
“What I really like from him is the way he fights when the team loses the ball,” he said. “He’s always ready to be the first defender for the team, and that’s big for us.
“Obviously we know his quality on the ball, he’s amazing, but his fight, the way he defends, he’s the first player to defend – I really like it.”
