Asari Dokubo Warns Against Rigging 2019 General Election- ‘Especially’ In The Niger Delta Region!

The former Niger Delta Warlord –Mujahid Dokubo-Asari has forewarned the leaders of Niger Delta to guide against any possibility of President Muhammadu Buhari and his advocators rigging the forth-coming General Election come 2019 in Niger Delta region.

Also, the former leader of the group- Niger Delta Peoples Volunteer Force (NDPVF) has begged the people of South East and South -South region of Nigeria to be harmonious and united in their dealings; urging them to imitate Isaac Boro, who reasonably pursued and promoted the interest of the region.

Meanwhile, Ijaw people as they marched round the streets of Port Harcourt on Wednesday May 16th, 2018 in honor of  Isaac Adaka Boro, (the late Niger Delta Freedom Fighter), stated their preference for the Rivers Governor Nyesom Wike,  Whom they have chosen to  endorsed for a second tenure by the following the Governor’s friendly disposition with them.

Nevertheless, the spoke person of Ijaw Republican Assembly (IRA) –Ann –Kio Briggs has said Governor Wike deserves a second tenure in order to encourage and consolidate him on the gains of his first tenure. She added that the Ijaws would be pleased should Governor Wike support the emergence of an Ijaw Governor after his term in the office.

She said:

“As Ijaw in Rivers State, these four years that you have done, we want to say that the next four years, because of the work you have done in terms of protecting the people of Niger Delta, it is okay for you to run for four more years.

“As we give this support, you should bear in mind that we also will want to come and govern Rivers State after that,” she said.

Interestingly, Governor Wike (who must have been pleased by the praises of his people) declared his determination to remain resolute in the defense of the interests of the people of Rivers and the Niger Delta at large.

He said:

“No level of intimidation from the failed All Progressives Congress (APC) Federal Government” would compel him to abandon the worthy cause of developing the area.

“I have no regret for supporting former President Goodluck Jonathan. Nobody should deceive us by political parties. Our interest is paramount,” he added.

The governor said the Ijaw had contributed meaningfully to the development of the country, and that Boro fought for the emancipation of the Niger Delta.

Wike also pinpointed that his administration had made significant inroad in the development of riverine Ijaw communities through key projects.

“I will continue to defend the interest of the Niger Delta. I have approved the reconstruction of all government-owned schools in the area, while Degema internal roads will be reconstructed,” he said.

He was able to convince the people to remain resolute in supporting his administration as no other political party can defend them better than he (PDP) does.
