The Ethiopian Athletics Federation has banned an athlete for two years after he attacked his coach for leaving him out of the World Athletics Championship in London.

Chala beyo, 21, a steeplechase runner, attacked his coach after learning he didn’t make the team for next month’s IAAF world meet in London.

According to information released by the spokesman of the Federation, Sileshi Bisrat, beyo had punched his coach, Yohannes Mohammed, after learning about the omission following the announcement of the team.

Bisrat also said that the police are currently searching for the youngster, who competed in last year’s Rio de Janeiro Olympics.
