It is surprising that despite all and sundry that are craving to bleach their skin, in the midst of them, we still have Africans in the international spotlight, who still are black and proud of their colour.
Khoudia Diop is one amongst those who decided not to tamper with her colour; ”ebony black, i mean as black as charcoal”, wow! looking beautiful and lovely”, a Senegalese model that is keen in her career has been like this from birth. Also called ”the Melanin Goddess” is an example of a true African who is not ashamed of her colour by going for a bleaching cream, rather she is comfortable with it and proud to be.
Black is beautiful as the saying goes, and we Africans are known for our dark skin being our identity. One thing about this life is learning to love and accept yourself in whatever form God has created you. The advantage of dark skin is that it has a level of melanin that protects the skin from the damages of the ultraviolet rays of the sun, and as the skin gets darker so also the melanin gets higher. But where by the skin is bleached, there are chances of exposing it to health hazards e.g. skin Cancer, also if you happen to under any operation or surgery, it will be disastrous because the wound do not get healed easily, it keeps on tearing and the doctor keeps on stitching.
For the fact that she’s proud leaving her colour, not only will she become the media model but the model of original African beauty as a result of her skin. There are still other top international personalities who are proudly African as it concerns their skin colour are, flaunting their colour with pride. They include; Djimon Hounsoun,Nykhor Paul,Lupita Nyong’o, and Alek Wek.
