Rest on Stephen Keshi

Exactly a year ago, today, the football world lost a legend, his name, Stephen Okechukwu Keshi, fondly called ‘The Big Boss.”

Keshi served Nigeria meritoriously, not just as a footballer, but coach of the national team, the Super Eagles. In each capacity, he gave it his all and brought smiles on the faces of Nigerians and the world at large.

So, today, at Surge Nigeria, we join the world to not only remember this legend of the game, but also celebrate the life and time of a father, brother, friend, team mate, and ultimately, a Big Boss, while he was with us.

Thank you, big boss, for the smiles. We won’t forget in a hurry the joy you gave us in 2013 when you took a young, inexperienced team, to win Nigeria’s first African Cup of Nations title in 19 years. Thank you, Keshi.

As we remember and celebrate you this day, it is our prayer that you continue to dwell peacefully in the bosom of the Lord.

RIP Keshi!!
